How to avoid these 3 Mistakes in your Fashion brand
How to avoid these 3 Mistakes in your Fashion brand
by Trudi Roach

I'm speaking from experience. Whether it's leading a team of brand-name designers or working with a brand-new startup business, these mistakes can show up no matter how seasoned you are. There’s no doubt, these are the most common mistakes I want to make sure you avoid.
👉 Mistake #1
Trying to design for everyone. Your desire to appeal to and sell all the people is resulting in a lack of sales with your core customer base, your ideal customer.
Instead of trying to sell everyone in an attempt to simply sell more product, focus in on who exactly you are designing for and creating your product for. Think about who they are what they do and what will appeal to them. This will shape and inform everything that you do in your brand. And it will meet, be the perfect match to watch your goals and intentions are.
👉 Mistake #2
Spending your time creating style sheets, sketches and wishlists. It happens to the best designers and creatives. After all, you are creative!!
The only problem if you have made this mistake is if you continue to spend your time and energy creating things that don’t bring value to your brand and ultimately will not help you make sales. Instead, try spending your time creating a roadmap of actions you need to take, so that you can get your product into your customers hands. Just keep in mind, there might be a difference in those steps if you are selling directly online or if you plan to get your product into a boutique or store.
👉 Mistake #3
Waiting to show up until your product and brand is "perfect." As creative entrepreneurs we think that doing a good job = perfect, but that's just not true!
This is a mistake that I see over and over again. After all, we’re taught to try to get things right and do the best job we can. But chasing perfection will hold you back.
It makes more sense to focus on completing tasks and feeling proud of your accomplishments than to for perfection. The benefit of taking imperfect action is that you will learn a lot, get feedback and maybe even hear directly from your customers. It’s going to help you learn and grow as you move forward
